LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — It’s been over three weeks since 17-year-old Lillie Parker was last seen, and her family is growing increasingly worried. Leaving home on October 26, Lillie’s disappearance has left her loved ones shocked, as they describe this behavior as totally out of character for her.
Her parents, Monica and Matthew Harris, expressed their distress in a heartfelt interview. “We were just gut-wrenched and shocked. It was completely out of character for her,” they shared. Along with her absence, Lillie left behind her phone and a note. The contents of the note only intensified their concern as it revealed Lillie felt “trapped” and informed her parents not to look for her.
The Harris family is left wondering why their daughter would feel this way. “We allowed her to do most things she wanted,” Matthew explained. “If she wanted to go somewhere, we’d say just have your phone with you so we can track you. We never questioned her decisions; she’s always been smart.” Lillie is a dedicated senior at River Bluff High School and was on track to graduate.
Just days after she went missing, there was a potential sighting of Lillie in Conyers, Georgia. Her family reported that she may have been seen shopping with an older gentleman, someone resembling a truck driver. They promptly passed this information to the authorities; however, it still leads to a dead end, leaving them feeling helpless.
To add to this troubling situation, the Harris family has discovered that someone at school gave Lillie a different phone before her disappearance. “Somebody had provided her with a phone that she had been using at school, so we’d just like to know that she’s safe,” Matthew mentioned with a shroud of concern. With this new revelation, her parents have even more questions swirling in their minds about what could have led to her vanishing.
Both Monica and Matthew have pleaded for help from the community, reaching out to anyone who might have information regarding their daughter’s whereabouts. They are urging folks to contact the Lexington Police Department if they have any leads or saw anything unusual.
This incident has sparked a heartfelt outpouring of support from the Lexington County community. Friends, neighbors, and classmate are rallying together, spreading awareness of Lillie’s situation. They wear shirts with her name, display posters, and share her face on social media platforms in the hope that someone will recognize her or have crucial information that could lead to her safe return.
The Harris family remains hopeful that Lillie will come back home soon, as they continue to grapple with the uncertainty and fear surrounding her disappearance. “We just want to hear her voice, to know that she is okay. We just want our daughter back,” said Monica, expressing the sentiments that are echoed throughout the community.
If you have any information on Lillie Parker, her family and the authorities are urging you to reach out to the Lexington Police Department. Every little piece of information could make a difference in bringing this young girl back to her worried family.
