Warm Weather and Sunny Skies Expected in Columbia, S.C.

Warm Weather Ahead for Columbia, S.C.

Columbia, S.C. is getting ready to embrace some beautiful weather over the next few days! If you enjoy sunny skies and a little warmth, you’re in luck. With winds flipping back out of the southwest, temperatures are on the rise, reaching into the 80s this Sunday and Monday. It’s a nice little treat as we head deeper into fall!

A Gorgeous Weekend to Start

What a way to kick off the weekend! The start was simply delightful, featuring bright sunshine and warming temperatures that made highs soar into the upper 70s. As the sun sets, folks can expect temperatures to cool down a bit, dipping into the mid to upper 40s in the Midlands. So, if you’re heading out for the evening, don’t forget to grab a light jacket!

Sunny Sunday in Store

Looking forward to Sunday, it appears that the lovely weather will continue. Thanks to high pressure sliding east towards the Atlantic, we will see a southwest wind pumping in warm air. Expect highs to climb to the low to mid 80s. That makes for another perfect day to head out to the South Carolina State Fair. With the sunny skies and low humidity, you might want to bring your family and friends along for a fun day outdoors!

Starting the Week on a Warm Note

As we usher in Monday, prepare for another warm day where highs hover in the low to mid-80s under mostly sunny skies. Whether you have plans to relax outside, or perhaps you’re thinking about a nice evening stroll, it’s the perfect way to enjoy the first two days of the week before cooler changes sweep in.

Cooler Air on the Horizon

However, don’t get too cozy just yet! Late on Monday into Tuesday, a strong cold front will sweep through the Carolinas, bringing in a blast of cool, Canadian air. By Tuesday, highs will be below average, sitting in the 60s to lower 70s. It will feel quite chilly in the mornings as well, with lows dipping into the lower 40s. In some rural spots, temperatures could even fall into the upper 30s!

Staying Dry in Columbia

In addition to the cooler temperatures, the dry spell continues for the Midlands. It’s now been 15 days without rain, and looking at the forecast, it seems we won’t be tracking any rain chances over the next ten days. That means October might very well be completely dry! So, if you enjoy crisp fall weather without the added element of rain, this could be your month!

Your Weekly Outlook

Here’s what you can expect for the upcoming week:

  • Tonight: Clear and cool, with lows in the mid to upper 40s.
  • Sunday: Enjoy the sunshine and warmth as highs reach the mid-80s.
  • Monday: Mostly sunny and warm, with highs in the low to mid-80s.
  • Tuesday: A few passing clouds, cooling down to highs near 70 degrees.
  • Wednesday: A bit cooler but sunny, with highs in the mid-60s.
  • Thursday: Another sunny day, high in the 60s, starting out in the lower 40s.

So, make the most of the beautiful days ahead, Columbia! Whether you’re catching rays at the fair or enjoying a cozy evening at home, we’re in for a lovely few days before the cooler weather sweeps in.
