Football Field Preparations
This week marked the beginning of the 2024 Vermont high school fall sports season, with exciting games in a variety of sports including soccer, field hockey, volleyball, golf, and cross-country running. Teams across the state showcased their skills, setting the stage for an action-packed season ahead.
In girls’ soccer, the University of Vermont team continued to impress, claiming a decisive 7-0 victory over Dartmouth. Star players included Sophia Drees, who scored 3 goals and provided 1 assist, while Lotte Kanters4-6 overall after achieving a second successive shutout. Additionally, the volleyball teams started strong, with South Burlington defeating Burlington in straight sets, showcasing their skills with scores of 25-18, 25-11, and 25-17.
