USC’s Board of Trustees Approve Budget with Tuition Freeze for In-State Students

USC’s Board of Trustees approve budget during June meeting

COLUMBIA, S.C. (ABC Columbia) –

The University of South Carolina’s Board of Trustees met on Wednesday, June 19, and passed the annual budget. The board approved the 2024-2025 fiscal year budget which allows USC to hold tuition flat for in-state students for a sixth year in a row. It will also be the seventh year in a row for system institutions, says university officials.

According to the university’s website, tuition for non-residents is increasing by 3.9%. School officials say with the university’s continuance of strong enrollment and financial support from state lawmakers, the budget allows the university to invest in its future without significant increases in tuition.

Investing in the Future

The approved budget enables USC to allocate resources towards enhancing educational programs, campus infrastructure, and student services. The university aims to provide a top-tier academic experience while ensuring affordability for its students.

Commitment to Students

By keeping tuition steady for in-state students, USC continues to demonstrate its commitment to making higher education accessible to South Carolina residents. The board’s decision reflects the university’s dedication to supporting students and their families.

Public Support

University officials acknowledge the vital role of financial support from state lawmakers in maintaining tuition stability. The partnership between USC and the state government plays a significant role in the university’s ability to operate efficiently and serve its student body effectively.
