Lexington, SC – In a concerning turn of events, the Lexington Police Department is reaching out to the community for help in identifying two individuals believed to be involved in a series of debit card thefts.
Between September 20, 2024, and October 10, 2024, several victims reported unauthorized transactions linked to their debit cards after shopping at a local Walmart. Approximately $11,000 was withdrawn from their bank accounts at nearby ATMs. The police suspect that these two individuals have been active in the area and may still be lurking nearby.
The nature of these thefts has left many in the community feeling uneasy. Imagine heading to Walmart to pick up a few essentials, only to find out later that your debit card information has been compromised! This kind of crime not only hits your wallet but can feel like a breach of personal security. Many residents in the nearby areas, including South Congaree, Pine Ridge, and Gaston, have expressed their concern over this growing issue.
The Lexington Police have been diligent in their investigation. Officers are asking anyone with information to come forward. “We believe someone in our community has vital information about these suspects,” says Detective Tomaino, who is leading the case. “If you recognize these individuals or have any leads, we urge you to contact us.”
