Taylor Resigns as Winnsboro Town Manager; Signs Three-Year Contract with Town of Newberry

Management Shift in Winnsboro

After three dedicated years of service, Winnsboro Town Manager, Jason Taylor, has made the official announcement of his resignation. Shifting his sights on new opportunities, Taylor has accepted the City Manager position for the Town of Newberry under a three-year contract. His last working day in his current role will be July 1st.

Taylor’s Flourishing Legacy in Fairfield County

Before clinching his role as the Town Manager in Winnsboro in June 2021, Taylor spent six years as the Fairfield County Administrator. During his tenure, he demonstrated exceptional leadership skills and commitment towards the development of the county. Under his watch, Fairfield County saw industrial investment surpassing the $100 million mark, creating over 1,000 jobs in the process.

Besides the aforementioned accomplishments, Taylor was instrumental in the restoration of several key facilities in the county. This includes the Farmers Market building on East Washington Street in Winnsboro and the Fairfield County Government Complex.

Ongoing Projects left in Taylor’s Wake

During his tenure in Winnsboro, Taylor created a significant impact on the town, placing a major emphasis on restoring and redeveloping deteriorating buildings. Some of the notable projects he steered are the historic Thespian Hall, ‘The Tavern,’ and Fortune Springs Park. His dedication to revitalizing the downtown section of Winnsboro will undoubtedly be remembered fondly by the residents.

As Taylor accepts his new position as City Manager in Newberry, the town will anticipate his arrival with expectations based on his successful track record.
