SC State Fair Accepting Exhibit Entries

Columbia is inviting all interested South Carolinians to apply as the South Carolina State Fair is now accepting entries for its annual competitive exhibits until September 1st. These will be on display for the public during the S.C. State Fair that will take place from October 9th to October 20th.

Competitions and Categories

Participants across the state are being invited to submit their entries in numerous categories. They get the chance to compete at the state’s largest event showcasing diversity, talent, and creativity. As per Nancy Smith, the General Manager, the competitive exhibits form a cherished tradition and essentially the heart of the fair. She highlighted that these exhibits showcase the extraordinary skills and achievements of the local community and further help in celebrating South Carolina’s rich heritage.

Participants of all ages and backgrounds are warmly welcomed to take part in these competitions. More than $300,000 in premiums will be provided for the award-winning exhibits. These exhibits will be featuring artworks in agriculture, home and crafts, flowers, livestock, and many more categories. South Carolina State Fair: A Promoter of Education and Heritage

The S.C. State Fair is recognized as a charitable organization that focuses on preserving and promoting South Carolina’s agricultural roots. Additionally, it supports statewide education. Earlier this year, it provided its largest amount of scholarships. $530,000 in Ride of Your Life Scholarships was granted to 53 South Carolina high school students. This sponsorship money will support them in their studies at any public or private college, university, or technical college in the state.

State Fair Theme 2024: “46 Reasons to Celebrate SC.”

The theme for the upcoming 2024 S.C. State Fair is “46 Reasons to Celebrate SC”. This year, the fair invites residents and visitors to embark on an extraordinary journey. This adventure not only celebrates the compelling attributes of the Palmetto State but also appreciates the 46 unique counties that collectively make up South Carolina. In line with this year’s theme, several additional categories and divisions have been added to the fair’s 2024 competitive exhibits. These include the “Spirit of Carolina” awards that will highlight the best of South Carolina’s natural beauty and creativity.
