It’s that time of year again! Tinsel is going up, carols are being sung, and hearts are ready to give back. This Tuesday marks the 26th annual ‘Share Your Holiday’ Food Drive, and we couldn’t be more excited! This fantastic event is **the biggest food drive in the state** and is all about bringing the Midlands together to help those in need.
This incredible event is made possible through the partnership of WACH FOX and Harvest Hope Food Bank. Together, they’re dedicated to making sure that nobody goes without a hearty meal this holiday season. Hunger doesn’t take a holiday, but with the community’s help, we can make a big difference!
Starting bright and early, the WACH FOX crew will be stationed at Market on Main in downtown Columbia, ready to accept donations from 6:00 am until 5:30 pm. During these hours, they’ll be collecting non-perishable food items and cash donations. It’s easy to get involved, and every little bit helps!
So, how can you help? If you have any non-perishable food items lying around, grab them and come on down! Some great items to consider donating include canned goods, dry pasta, rice, and other pantry staples. Not only does donating feel great, but you’ll also be giving your neighbors a reason to smile this holiday season.
For those who prefer a more modern approach to giving, you can also donate online at Harvest Hope’s website. Even simpler, you can text “SHARE” to 803-866-7512 to send your generous contributions from the comfort of your own home. How easy is that?
If you feel inspired to enjoy a night out while contributing to a fantastic cause, don’t miss happy hour at Market on Main! From 3 p.m. to 6 p.m., a portion of the proceeds will go directly to Harvest Hope Food Bank. Socialize with friends, sip some delicious drinks, and know that you’re making a difference with every toast!
Can’t make it to Market on Main? No problem! You can drop off any food donations at local Food Lion locations. It’s convenient, and every donation counts towards making the holidays brighter for families across the Midlands!
This year, the goal is to bring in as much support as possible to help feed those who might otherwise go hungry. With the Spirit of Giving alive and well here in Columbia, it’s the perfect moment to come together as a community and lend a hand. Remember, it’s not just about the food; it’s about hearts working together to create happier holidays for all.
So, mark your calendars for this Tuesday! Let’s show everyone that Columbia has a heart big enough to be shared. Whether it’s a can of green beans, a box of cereal, or a cash donation, let’s fill those tables and spread joy this season!
Join us at the ‘Share Your Holiday’ Food Drive and be part of changing lives in your community! Together we can feed hope, laughter, and love this holiday season. Let’s make it happen!
