Exciting News for Lexington: Outback Steakhouse Opening Soon!

Mark your calendars, Lexington! The beloved Aussie-themed restaurant chain, Outback Steakhouse, is set to open its newest location right here in our city. Joining the local dining scene at 5595 Sunset Blvd., it’s officially opening its doors at 4 p.m. on October 15, and we couldn’t be more thrilled!

A Fresh Start in a New Spot

You might be curious about what’s happening with the spot that used to be an O’Charley’s. The old O’Charley’s location closed its doors back in 2022, leaving the space empty until now. Outback Steakhouse has taken it upon themselves to start fresh. This means a brand-new building has sprouted up from the ground, completely replacing the old structure. Now, let’s talk about size! The new Outback is approximately 4,700 square feet, boasting a modern design that is bound to make you feel right at home.

Modern Amenities and Local Flair

Inside, you’ll find a spacious dining room that’s perfect for gatherings, whether you’re out with family or catching up with friends. The restaurant features a large bar area that embodies a Great Barrier Reef design—how cool is that? With a seating capacity for 187 guests, there’s plenty of space for everyone to enjoy a hearty meal. What’s even more special is some carefully curated artwork that gives a nod to local vibes. Picture this: a kangaroo lounging in the sun on a dock at Lake Murray! That’s right—Outback is embracing Lexington’s charm while still keeping its Aussie spirit alive.

Meet the Team

If you’ve ever dreamt of joining the team behind those mouthwatering steaks and iconic appetizers, you may get your chance soon. Outback has announced that around 125 employees will be hired for this new location. This not only means delicious food for us but also new job opportunities for our community—always a win-win!

A Popular Destination for Food Lovers

Did you know there are nearly 700 Outback locations across the United States? Yes, you read that right! This chains’ reputation for steak, sandwiches, seafood, desserts, salads, pasta, and their famous Bloomin’ Onion is well-known far and wide. If you’re already a fan, you’ll be excited to see one more option in the Columbia area, especially since there are already locations on Harbison Boulevard and at 7611 Two Notch Road.

Location, Location, Location!

The new Outback location sits nestled amongst a variety of other retail businesses, including Papa John’s, Tractor Supply Co., and a Verizon store, making it a perfect spot to stop by after running errands. Plus, if you need to pick up some supplies, there’s a Home Depot and a Walmart just across the street! On top of that, this stretch of Sunset Boulevard sees more than 35,000 cars per day, according to local traffic statistics. So, you can bet that people will have no trouble finding their way to this delicious new dining option.

Count Down to Opening Day!

As we eagerly await October 15, it’s clear that Outback Steakhouse is bringing something exciting to Lexington. From its fresh, modern facilities to its well-loved menu and local touches, it’s shaping up to be a fantastic addition to our community. So gather your friends and family and plan to check it out. You won’t want to miss this culinary adventure right in your backyard!
