Lexington Introduces Outback Steakhouse: A Flavorful Slice of Australia Opens Its Doors

Lexington Welcomes Outback Steakhouse: A Taste of Australia Right at Home!

The town of Lexington is buzzing with excitement as the brand-new Outback Steakhouse officially opened its doors this past Wednesday at 5595 Sunset Blvd. Formerly the site of O’Charley’s, which had been sitting empty since summer 2023, this spot is now back in action with sizzling steaks and a warm Aussie vibe!

A Year-Long Anticipation Comes to Fruition

For those not wanting to hop on a 24-hour flight to Australia for an authentic steak experience, the arrival of Outback Steakhouse feels like a dream come true! After a decade of hoping and planning, the wait is finally over for Nikki Shiggs, the proud proprietor of the Lexington Outback. “We finally seized the opportunity to take over the O’Charley’s space,” she mentioned with a smile, as guests lined up and filled the air with laughter and good cheer on opening day.

The restaurant’s grand makeover from O’Charley’s to Outback Steakhouse took roughly nine months, finishing even earlier than expected. As the clock struck 9 p.m. on opening day, the bustling venue was still welcoming eager diners. “The community response has been fantastic,” Shiggs exclaimed. It seems locals were counting down the days, ready to savor some of those tempting menu items they’ve heard so much about.

Good Vibes and Even Better Food

If you’re curious about what to expect on the menu, you’re in for a treat! Outback is famous for its blooming onion – a massive onion served with their signature bloom sauce that’s perfect for sharing. Don’t forget to try their delicious sirloin steak cooked just the way you like it, or Aussie cheese fries topped with crispy bacon and homemade ranch. And if you’re feeling adventurous, the Alice Springs chicken promises a delightful mix of sautéed mushrooms, bacon, melted cheese, and honey mustard sauce. Yum!

Shiggs expressed deep gratitude to everyone involved in getting the restaurant ready for its grand opening. “I want to thank my staff because without them, I’m nothing,” she highlighted, clearly proud of her team. While celebrating their launch, there are still openings for front-of-house team members, inviting those interested to hop over to Outback’s website for job listings.
