Oktoberfest Fun Returns to Columbia with Three Exciting Weekends of Beer, Music, and Festivities!

Oktoberfest Fun Returns to Columbia!

Columbia, mark your calendars because it’s that time of year again! Believe it or not, it’s time for Bierkeller Columbia’s annual Oktoberfest, and this year, the brewpub is celebrating right from this weekend and will keep the beer flowing for three full weekends! Now in its second year, this fantastic fest is set to be the highlight of the brewery’s festival season.

Celebration Kicks Off This Weekend

Starting September 21, the festival promises to be vibrant and lively, featuring a mix of multiple bands. You’ll hear some familiar favorites like The Channelheimers and brand-new additions including Vince Demore and Polka Cola. And of course, what’s Oktoberfest without some amazing food specials and, most importantly, beer!

A Sip of Germany at Bierkeller

Bierkeller Columbia is widely known for its year-round festive atmosphere, offering great beer and tasty food, but during Oktoberfest, it shines even brighter. Guests can look forward to fresh Festmärzen bier, traditional eats like pretzels with bier cheese, schnitzel, sauerkraut, and delicious sausages. Plus, you’ll be entertained with live beats, family activities, and a vendor area brimming with local artisans’ creations.

“I am so excited for our second season of Oktoberfest,” said Bierkeller’s Business Development and Events Manager, Brittany Jacobsen. “It’s truly incredible seeing the atmosphere we have created in our slice of heaven along the Historic Columbia Canal.” This is the kind of place where you can feel the community spirit in every clink of a beer mug!

Honoring Tradition with a Twist

The decision to extend this year’s celebration across three weekends echoes the original Munich Oktoberfest, which kicks off in September and runs for weeks. Owner and Founder Scott Burgess explained, “We always aim for authenticity in everything we do. And this is certainly no exception.” So you know it’s a tribute to the real deal!

No Admission Fee, Many Payment Options

One of the best parts? Admission is absolutely free to join in the Oktoberfest fun! When it comes to payments, stop stressing because cash and card are accepted at all food and beverage stations. New this year is the option to pay with special beer tokens, plus attendees can bring their own mugs. So no need to buy a glass! If you still want a souvenir, don’t fret – you can grab a mug for just $5!

Activities and Competitions Galore!

It gets even better! Attendees can participate in exciting events like a Stein-hoisting competition and a best-dressed competition for men, women, and even pets! Yes, you heard that right—dress your furry friend up in their best attire for a chance to win some prizes.

Support Local Artisans

There will be a vendor section featuring everything from hand-crafted jewelry and home décor to crocheted and knitted items, baked goodies, and even specialty teas. It’s a fantastic chance to find unique gifts or treat yourself while enjoying the overall festive vibe.

Join the Festivities!

So, if you’re looking for a fun way to kick off the fall season, head over to Bierkeller Columbia’s Oktoberfest. Whether you want to enjoy delicious food, listen to fantastic music, or just soak up the lively atmosphere, this event has something for everyone.
