Neenah Rockets Claim Thrilling Victory Over Kimberly Papermakers

Neenah – In a nail-biting finish, the Neenah Rockets triumphed over the Kimberly Papermakers with a last-minute 29-yard field goal by Jack Klundt, sealing a 29-28 win in a crucial Fox Valley Association (FVA) game. This victory not only ended a long 19-game losing streak against Kimberly but also shifted the all-time series to Neenah’s advantage at 40-31-2.

The win improved the Rockets’ overall record to 5-2, while they now sit at 4-1 in the FVA. Despite the loss, Kimberly remains strong with a 5-1 record overall and 4-1 in the league. The game was a back-and-forth battle, with both teams exchanging leads throughout the night.

Grant Dean and Luke Jung both shined for Neenah, each scoring two touchdowns. Dean’s contributions included an impressive 80-yard touchdown run. The scoring timeline showed Neenah struggling early but rallying back, outscoring Kimberly in the fourth quarter to take the win.

Kaukauna also had a thrilling game against Appleton North, with Kyle Kress scoring the winning touchdown in overtime. The Ghosts triumphed 13-10, setting them atop the FVA standings at 5-0. Aiden Reardon was a standout for Kaukauna, rushing for 206 yards on 34 carries.

In another exciting matchup, Pulaski outscored Appleton West 77-38. The Red Raiders dominated with 526 rushing yards, showcasing a powerful offense from Sawyer Goodness, who ran for three touchdowns.

Finally, Freedom edged out Wrightstown 28-24, with Drew Kortz leading the charge with multiple touchdowns. Meanwhile, Clintonville secured a 14-6 victory over Manawa, marking their second win of the season.
