Minnesota High School Basketball and Gymnastics Highlights: Close Matches and Standout Performances

Minneapolis witnessed a thrilling night of high school basketball, with nail-biting finishes and impressive performances filling the gymnasiums. In the boys’ basketball games, the Camden team edged out Southwest with a close score of 79 to 78, showcasing exceptional skills on the court. Meanwhile, South managed a narrow victory against North, finishing the game at 85 to 84. Other notable boys’ games included Centennial, who defeated elk River 53 to 47, and Eden Prairie dominating Waconia with a strong score of 99 to 72.

The girls’ basketball matches brought their share of excitement too. Mahtomedi showcased a dominant performance against Simley, winning 75 to 30. Centennial also had a close match, beating Elk River 72 to 66. In another exciting game, Benilde-St. Margaret’s defeated Hill-Murray with a final score of 77 to 66, indicating that the competition is intensifying as the season unfolds.

In gymnastics, Highland Park impressed with a total score of 124.0, consistently performing well against Johnson, who scored 86.575. Ellie Pavlis stood out with an all-around performance of 33.00.

The girls’ hockey scene was also electrifying as Lakeville North triumphed over Apple Valley, scoring 5 to 2. A tie was seen in a hard-fought battle between Roseville/Mahtomedi and White Bear Lake, ending at 1 to 1 after overtime.

Wrestling fans saw Humboldt take a strong lead against Washington, concluding the match with a score of 45 to 29.
