West Columbia Celebrates 80 Years of Mann Tool with Exciting OAKtoberfest Event!

Celebrate 80 Years of Mann Tool in West Columbia!

This weekend, West Columbia is getting ready for a fantastic celebration! Mann Tool, a cherished local business, is marking its 80th anniversary, and they’re inviting everyone to join in the fun with a special event they’re calling OAKtoberfest!

A Bit of History

To appreciate the significance of this milestone, let’s take a stroll down memory lane. Mann Tool started back in 1944 when Jimmy Mann moved his family to Florence, South Carolina, to work for the railroad. Alongside this job, he had a dream of opening an electrical service business. Thus, Mann Electric was born. Fast forward to the 1950s when Jimmy relocated back to Columbia and brought his thriving business with him. Over the years, it evolved into Mann Tool, which is now located in West Columbia.

Fast forward to 2013, when his granddaughter, Suzanne Mann, took the reins as the president of the company. With family members like her cousin Tyler working as the sales manager and her husband Mark as part of the team, it’s safe to say that Mann Tool is a true family endeavor!

Join the Celebration!

This exciting celebration is set to take place on Friday, October 6, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and on Saturday, October 7, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.. Get ready for a weekend packed with activities for everyone! One of the highlights of OAKtoberfest will be the kids’ activities. Children are encouraged to let their creativity flow as they decorate wooden ornaments made from oak, sourced from some of Mann Tool’s customers and vendors. How cool is that?

In the spirit of giving, they will also be collecting non-perishable food items for the Harvest Hope Food Bank. As a token of appreciation, children who bring any food items will receive a special Mann Tool coloring sheet. It’s a win-win situation—help those in need while having fun!

Special Deals and Artisan’s Fair

Now, let’s talk deals! Mann Tool will have some amazing sales going on during OAKtoberfest. You’ll find special offers from their major vendors outside of the store, where they will have tents set up showcasing their products. If you’re looking for even deeper discounts, make sure to check out the garage sale that includes overstock and items that might have been lingering on the shelves a bit too long.

In addition to the exciting sales, this year marks a new feature at OAKtoberfest: an artisan’s fair. Local artisans will be showcasing their talents and selling unique, handmade goods. It’s a great opportunity to support local talent and maybe even find that perfect one-of-a-kind gift!
