COLUMBIA, S.C. – Food enthusiastics in the Midlands can savor a blend of eclectic flavors, courtesy of Black Eats Week 803, designed to celebrate Black owned eateries. Local favorites like Mr. Seafood and Rebel Dogs are offering an array of delightful deals until this Sunday. The week-long initiative is set to please more than just the palette, presenting a unique opportunity for residents to show their support for the thriving Black dining scene in the region.
Simultaneously, the Columbia-Richland Fire Department is extending an open invitation to their Community Open House slated for this Friday. Everyone is encouraged to partake in this splendid community event, packed with engaging games, vibrant music, and scrumptious food. The event is set to run from 10 a.m. till 2 p.m at their headquarters on Laurel Street. In keeping with the spirit of goodwill, attendees can bring a donation for a teen battling Sickle Cell Anemia.
There’s more fun in store this upcoming weekend with the 2nd round of the wildly popular Dam Boat Run. The three-day event, starting from Friday to Sunday, will see an exciting showdown of the fastest boats at the Lake Murray Marina in Ballentine. Other than an adrenaline-pumping display of speed, the Dam Boat Run is also a testament of the Columbia community’s commitment to charity causes. This year, proceeds from the event will directly benefit the Big Red Barn, the Richland County Sheriff’s Department, and Camp Discovery – all set on making a positive difference in the lives of those who need it most.
