Hey there, Lexington! We have some important news to share with you, and it’s one of those stories that makes all of us want to come together as a community. The Lexington Police Department is asking for your help to identify three individuals involved in a recent fraud scheme. Let’s break down what happened and how you can assist.
On September 2, 2024, at the Circle K located on South Lake Drive, it appears that these suspects managed to secure a couple of Visa gift cards without actually paying for them. The total amount of the two cards was nearly $1,000! That’s quite a hefty sum for something that should be straightforward, isn’t it? The suspects were seen driving a distinctive white BMW i7, which could help jog the memory of anyone who happened to be in the area.
Now, this is where you come in, Lexington! The police are hoping someone may have information that could lead to the suspects’ identification. If you, or someone you know, has any clues—no matter how small—you’re encouraged to reach out. Contact Detective Tomaino directly at 803-358-7271 or send an email to mtomaino@lexsc.gov.
If you prefer to keep your information anonymous, there’s an option for that too! Just call Midlands Crimestoppers at 1-888-CRIME-SC or visit their website. Providing a tip could even make you eligible for a cash reward, which is a nice little incentive for keeping our community safe.
Fraud can be a distressing crime, impacting not only the victims but the broader community as well. When we band together, it makes it much harder for such acts to happen. If you have friends or family in surrounding areas like Cayce, West Columbia, Springdale, or even Lake Murray, spread the word! The more eyes we have watching out, the better.
As we enjoy life here in Lexington, let’s keep our community vibrant and safe. Staying informed and aware is crucial, and sharing information can help protect others from similar situations.
This incident serves as a reminder for all of us to stay vigilant. When shopping, whether it’s at a convenience store or a larger retail outlet, make sure to pay attention to your surroundings. If something doesn’t seem right, trust your instincts. And remember, we all have a role to play in keeping Lexington a great place to live.
Let’s hope our combined efforts lead to the identification of these suspects. We’ll keep our fingers crossed for a swift resolution. Don’t forget to reach out if you have any tips and keep your loved ones informed! As a community, we truly are better together.
Thank you for taking the time to read this, and let’s work together to keep Lexington safe!
