Lexington County Police Seek Public Assistance in Wal-Mart Theft Case

Lexington County Police Need Your Help!

Lexington County, SC 09/09/2024 – In a small yet bustling corner of our community, something took place that’s got everyone talking. A typical day at the Wal-Mart on Sunset Boulevard turned into an unexpected situation when surveillance cameras captured a man behaving suspiciously. And now, local detectives are hoping you might hold the key to catching him!

Details of the Incident

It all went down on August 18, 2024. As shoppers leisurely roamed the aisles, doing their weekend shopping, someone wasn’t quite as innocent. Our newly dubbed “master thief” apparently decided that keeping his hands to himself was too dull. According to reports, he lifted a cell phone right out of another customer’s bag, all while they were focused on their own purchases.

Thanks to Wal-Mart’s vigilant surveillance system, this theft didn’t go unnoticed. The store’s “eye in the sky” zoomed in on the suspect as he went about his sneaky business. His removal of the phone from the cart was caught in stunning detail. And trust us, detectives have plenty of footage to work with!

What Does the Suspect Look Like?

Here’s what we know about the man: he has a striking tattoo on his left forearm, making him a bit easier to spot. When last seen, this fellow was dressed casually in black shorts, sports shoes, and a white T-shirt. He appeared to be carrying a pair of glasses in his left hand; they might be prescription, but it’s tough to say. He’s got a bald head and a noticeable goatee that adds to his distinct appearance.

When he made his getaway, he hopped into a white single cab GMC or Chevrolet pickup truck that sported after-market rims and shiny chrome bars on the sides of the tailgate. Quite the flashy ride for someone with such sticky fingers!
