Saturday morning kicks off with a Colonial Forts walking tour at the 12,000 Year History Park to give patrons a peep into the country’s fascinating past. The Farm 1780 adds an element of jamboree with their annual Spring Festival both for adults and kids alike. The day ends on a high note with the Rhythm On The River concert at the West Columbia Riverwalk Amphitheater.
With melodies by singer/songwriter Catoe White at Steel Hands Brewing to unwind, Sunday in the county promises to be a soothing end to an exciting weekend.
Tuesday offers yet another opportunity to dive into the rich heritage of the Lexington County during “Historically Speaking,” a history discussion series presented by the Lexington County Museum at the Lexington County Main Library. The day ends with an engaging “Challenge Accepted” board game night at the Irmo Branch Library.
A captivating performance by Hijacked at the Icehouse Amphitheater will delight patrons on Thursday. The band is known for their eclectic mix of 80s rock, 70s funk, and current variety dance tunes. This concert is a part of the Icehouse Live concert series and is free to attend.
The week progresses to an exhilarating weekend filled with fun and a myriad of activities. Notable events include the Aiken Garden Show at the Aiken County Historical Museum, a visually enthralling performance of “Disney on Ice: Magic in the Stars” at the Colonial Life Arena, and “Super Freak: The Rick James Story”, an ode to Rick James’ music at the Township Auditorium, all scheduled to happen on Friday, May 17.
Saturday sparks with emotions and joy through a lively family-friendly dance recital “All the Light You Cannot See” presented by the Harbison Theatre at Midlands Technical College and the CCJ Conservatory.
Sunday brings a wine sipping event, The 2024 Drink Pink Rose’ Festival, hosted at the Hampton Preston Mansion & Gardens. To round up the week, Thursday features the Bees & Blossoms Spring Fundraiser at The Hall at Senate’s End, supporting Living Wright, a community movement towards alleviating food insecurity in The Midlands.
