Chapin Contractor Ken Loveless Files to Run for School Board

Chapin, SC – August 5, 2024

Local contractor Ken Loveless has officially entered the race for the Lexington-Richland Five School Board, aiming for a seat in the upcoming November 5th elections. Loveless, a long-time supporter of District Five, expressed confidence in his campaign and the enthusiasm he has witnessed among local residents.

“I have been getting out and laying the groundwork for this campaign and the citizens are excited!” Loveless stated. He believes that a focus on transparency and being a problem-solver is key for school board members, a sentiment he has heard echoed by many community members.

Loveless is not a stranger to District Five. He has made a name for himself through his philanthropic efforts towards various educational causes, particularly with the District Five Foundation and SkillsUSA. His leadership in workforce development has been notable, especially in the areas of Irmo and Chapin. “It is important that we prepare our students for college and have the teachers ready to prepare them,” he explained. He emphasizes that “one size does not fit all,” and there needs to be diverse options available for students including pathways to the workforce.

Loveless has taken active steps to connect students with job opportunities, something he said has been well-received by both parents and students in the community. “I have led on that front, including working on getting these students set up with jobs,” he noted.

During his candidate filing, Loveless was joined by his wife, Jondy, who was a former School Board Trustee. For more information on his campaign, you can visit LovelessforD5.com.
