High School Football Showdown: Pittsburgh Teams Gear Up for Monday Night Matchups

Exciting High School Sports Action in Western Pennsylvania This Week

As the sports season heats up in Pittsburgh, high school teams are gearing up for a packed schedule this week, featuring hockey, soccer, and volleyball matches. Fans are sure to be treated to some thrilling performances by local athletes.

Hockey Matches Set for Monday

Ice hockey enthusiasts can look forward to several competitive games on Monday. In Class 3A, North Allegheny faces off against South Fayette at the Mt. Lebanon Ice Center, starting at 7:10 p.m. Meanwhile, in Class 2A, Armstrong will compete against Baldwin at Ice Castle Ice Arena at 7:00 p.m. Several other matchups include:

  • Canon-McMillan vs. Norwin at Palmer Imaging Arena, 6:30 p.m.
  • Hempfield vs. Penn-Trafford at Palmer Imaging Arena, 8:30 p.m.
  • Hampton vs. Butler at Frozen Pond Arena, 9:10 p.m.

In Class A, Indiana will go head-to-head with North Hills at the RMU Island Sports Center, kicking off at 7:15 p.m. Other notable games include Meadville vs. Montour and West Allegheny vs. Mars, both scheduled for late evening slots.

Soccer Kickoff

On the soccer field, Monday’s line-up includes boys’ matches like Deer Lakes at North Catholic and Uniontown at Laurel Highlands, both at 7:00 p.m.. For the girls, highlights include Penn-Trafford at Hempfield and Upper St. Clair at Canon-McMillan, both at 7:30 p.m..

Not to miss are the girls in Class 4A, as they face off in key matchups. In Section 3, North Hills will battle Allderdice starting at 6:30 p.m., while Pine-Richland meets North Allegheny at 7:30 p.m..

Volleyball Matches on the Calendar

In the volleyball arena, teams are ready to serve and spike their way to victory. Highlights include Serra Catholic at Brentwood and Armstrong at Knoch, both set for 7:30 p.m. Fans can also catch nonsection matchups like Aliquippa at Western Beaver at 6:00 p.m..
