High School Football Roundup: Jackson and Mountlake Terrace Claim Victories

High School Sports Roundup from Edmonds Area

Edmonds, WA – Exciting games unfolded in the Edmonds area high school sports scene this past weekend. The boys’ basketball teams were in action, showcasing some intense matchups.

In a close contest, Jackson edged out Meadowdale with a narrow victory of 59-56. Jackson’s standout player, Seamus Williams, led the scoring with 17 points, while also providing seven assists and grabbing five rebounds. On the other side, Natnael Ghirmay scored 18 points for Meadowdale. Both teams now hold a record of 1-1. Meadowdale’s next game is set for Tuesday, December 10, at 7:15 p.m. against Monroe at Meadowdale High School.

Meanwhile, Mountlake Terrace dominated Lynnwood in a decisive 70-33 victory. The scoring broke down as follows: 22-14-17-17 for Mountlake; 09-09-08-07 for Lynnwood. Notable individual performances for Mountlake included Svayjeet Singh with 12 points, and Rayshaun Connor and Brody Myers-Little both contributing 11 points each. Mountlake is now sitting at 2-0 overall, while Lynnwood’s record is 0-3. The Hawks will play Arlington next on Tuesday, December 10, at 7:15 p.m.. Lynnwood will face Snohomish at the same time.

Edmonds-Woodway also had a strong showing with a 64-39 win over Bishop Blanchet. Cameron Hiatt led the charge with 17 points while Grant Williams added 11 points. Edmonds-Woodway remains undefeated with a record of 2-0. Their next challenge is against Kamiak on Tuesday, December 10, at 7:15 p.m..

In girls’ basketball, Mountlake Terrace defeated Lynnwood in a close 55-53 game. Jaliyah Dyson was the top scorer with 15 points, and Emma Schmidt followed closely with 14 points. With this win, Mountlake Terrace moves to 2-0, while Lynnwood falls to 0-2. Mountlake’s next game is on Wednesday, December 11, against Cascade at 7:15 p.m..

Lastly, the Stanwood High School scramble will feature several schools including Edmonds-Woodway, Lynnwood, and Mountlake Terrace, on Wednesday, December 11, at 6 p.m..
