High School Sports Roundup: Thrilling Basketball and Hockey Action

This week in Minnesota, high school sports delivered some exciting matches across various competitions, particularly in basketball and hockey. Let’s dive into the highlights from around the state.

Basketball Highlights

In boys basketball, Hmong Academy had an impressive victory, defeating AFSA with a score of 94-19. Meanwhile, Mayer Lutheran triumphed over Eagle Ridge with a score of 90-74. The game between Blaine and Andover was particularly thrilling, with Blaine edging out Andover 86-82 in a nail-biting finish.

On the girls’ side, Mayer Lutheran had a dominant performance against Eagle Ridge, winning 74-31. In another matchup, Southwest managed to hold off Camden with a close score of 62-56.

Hockey Buzz

The boys’ hockey scene was just as action-packed. In the Metro East division, Hill-Murray crushed Tartan with a score of 7-1. Also, Maple Grove showed their strength by defeating Osseo 9-2.

In girls’ hockey, Holy Angels scored an easy victory over Chaska/Chanhassen with a score of 6-0. Orono also performed well, shutting out Waconia 7-0.

Wrestling and Gymnastics

Wrestling results featured St. Michael-Albertville asserting their dominance with a decisive 76-0 win over Minnetonka. In gymnastics, Hopkins narrowly defeated Wayzata, scoring 138.175 to 136.3.

Overall, this week’s high school sports events in Minnesota showcased incredible talent, teamwork, and competitive spirit. Fans can look forward to more exciting matches in the coming weeks as teams vie for top positions.
