Belleville Football Tops Michigan Rankings

In Belleville, excitement is buzzing as the high school football season progresses. The annual Associated Press high school football rankings have just been released, and Belleville is shining at the top of the list.

As of September 17, 2024, Belleville’s football team holds a perfect record of 3-0 and is ranked number one in the state of Michigan’s 11-player football division. They scored 49 total points in the poll, collecting four first-place votes from the panel, showing strong support from those who follow high school football closely.

Right behind Belleville is Rockford, also with a 3-0 record, securing second place with 42 points in the rankings. Close competition comes from Macomb Dakota and Detroit Catholic Central, both undefeated at 3-0 and holding the third and fourth spots, respectively.

A few other notable teams making the top ten include Lake Orion and Saline, both sitting with records of 3-0. Detroit Cass Tech, despite a record of 2-1, is tied at number six in terms of points but has shown strong performances early this season.

In the 8-player division, Warren De La Salle tops the chart at number one with a perfect record as well. Other teams like Muskegon Mona Shores and Birmingham Groves are also showing promising starts this season.

This week, as fans gear up for exciting matchups and rivalries, Belleville will look to maintain its winning streak and defend its top spot in the rankings. With contributions from players like Adrian Walker Jr., who had a memorable performance last week, there’s a lot to look forward to in Belleville football.

As the season unfolds, followers of high school sports in Michigan are eager to see if the rankings will change or if Belleville can continue to dominate the field. Fans are encouraged to support their teams as the action heats up in the coming weeks!
