Golden Passes for Senior Citizens from School District Five

Golden Passes for Senior Citizens from School District Five

In an exciting new initiative, Lexington-Richland School District Five in Irmo, South Carolina, is offering golden passes to residents aged 60 or older during the 2024-2025 school year. The passes are set to encourage senior citizens to be involved and active participants in district-sponsored events and activities for the upcoming school year.

Benefits of the Golden Pass

The Golden pass serves as a permanent photo identification card that provides the senior community with free admission into most athletic and cultural arts events within School District Five. However, bear in mind that this offer excludes playoff games.

In the words of School District Five Superintendent Dr. Akil E. Ross, Sr., “The Golden Pass program brings community members of all ages together and provides an opportunity to say thank you to our senior community for volunteering and supporting our schools.”

Acquiring the Golden Pass

Golden passes are going to be issued on Tuesday, July 23, between 1 p.m. and 4 p.m., and on Wednesday, July 24, between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m.. The issuance location for the passes is the district administration building, which is located at 1020 Dutch Fork Road in Irmo.

The Lifetime Pass and Its Advantages

District officials have confirmed that the Golden Passes are lifetime passes, allowing the community spirited senior residents to be involved in district activities indefinitely. These passes, unlike other passes, do not need to be renewed, thus reducing any related logistical hassles.

A Look Forward

With the introduction of these Golden Passes, School District Five is not just becoming more inclusive but is also setting a strong, positive example for other school districts to follow. Applications for the Golden Pass are expected to be high in number, indicating the eagerness of the senior community to participate in school district events.
