Chapel Hill, NC – The University of North Carolina hosts the NCAA Chapel Hill Men’s Golf Regional Monday through Wednesday, May 13-15, at UNC’s Finley Golf Course. Finley, the home of Tar Heel golf, recently re-opened after more than a yearlong facelift by Hall of Famer and UNC alum Davis Love III and Love Golf Design.
Carolina is one of six regional sites across the country. The ACC champion Tar Heels are the No. 1 seed in the field, which includes a dozen other teams from across the country as well as 10 players competing as individual entries. The top five teams and low individual not on one of those five teams qualify to play in the NCAA Championship, which begins May 24 in Carlsbad, Calif.
Admission for fans to attend the regional is free. Parking is available in the Finley North Lot at 100 Old Mason Farm Road. Overflow parking will be available at the Friday Center Park & Ride Lot on NC 54. Shuttles will take spectators to and from the course.
Due to the forecast of implement weather on Tuesday and Wednesday and the importance of playing 54 holes to determine who advances to the NCAA Championship, the teams will begin round one Monday at 7:30 a.m. then begin the second round at 2 p.m. Monday. The teams will get in as many holes as they can on Monday.
Carolina’s lineup includes five players with NCAA Championship experience – graduate student Austin Greaser, fifth-year senior Dylan Menante, senior Peter Fountain and juniors David Ford and Maxwell Ford. All five were selected by a vote of the ACC head coaches to the 2024 All-ACC team, the first time five players from one team earned All-ACC honors in one season. Head coach Andrew DiBitetto was selected Co-ACC Coach of the Year, the third straight year he was voted the ACC’s top coach.
