The South Carolina Highway Patrol (SCHP) is currently investigating a tragic accident that claim the life of a 68-year-old man, identified as Clayton Wesley Barrs from West Columbia.
According to the SCHP, the incident unfolded around 7:49 p.m. on October 3, when a 2002 Toyota Tacoma was traveling westbound on I-26. Unfortunately, the driver and passenger of the truck collided with Barrs, who was walking in the westbound lanes of the interstate, near mile marker 111. This location is just south of Augusta Road, about a mile from Springdale.
