Unfortunately, the driver and passenger of the truck collided with Barrs, who was walking in the westbound lanes of the interstate, near mile marker 111. This location is just south of Augusta Road, about a mile from Springdale.

Eyewitnesses have reported that the truck’s driver did stop to assist and remained at the scene, showing a sense of responsibility during this tragic moment. Thankfully, neither the driver nor the passenger in the truck suffered any injuries.
