Hey there, book lovers! If you’re in Irmo or nearby, we’ve got some great news for you! The Friends of the Irmo Branch Library are gearing up for their much-anticipated Fall Book Sale from October 10 to 12, right in the heart of your community at the library’s community room, located at 6251 St. Andrews Road.
Are you a member of the Friends? If so, you’re in for a treat! The sale kicks off with a special members-only event on Thursday, October 10, from 10 a.m. to noon. This is the perfect opportunity to snag the best selections before the crowds start rolling in. Not a member yet? No worries! You can join at the door for as little as $10, and then you’ll be all set to dive into the early bird books!
After the exclusive preview, the sale opens to the public on Thursday, October 10, from 2 p.m. to 5 p.m., and continues on Friday, October 11, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. and Saturday, October 12, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.. Just a heads-up though: there won’t be any Sunday sale hours, so make sure to plan your visit accordingly!
Are you wondering what kind of treasures you might find? Most of the books in the sale are priced from only 50 cents to $2, which is an absolute steal! Plus, if you really want to load up on some fantastic reads, you can buy a bag for a fixed price and fill it to the brim. Members even get a discount on bag purchases, making this a golden opportunity to expand your library without breaking the bank!
In addition to a wide variety of books, you’ll also find CDs and DVDs available for purchase. The collection includes a large selection of children’s books, thanks to our recent Donation Days events, and some specially priced vintage books that collectors will surely appreciate.
All proceeds from the book sale will go directly to support programs, services, and materials for the Irmo Branch Library. By attending, you’re not just getting great reads; you’re also playing a part in promoting literacy and community engagement. Isn’t that wonderful?
While you’re there, don’t miss the chance to pick up Friends T-shirts and tote bags as well. They make fabulous gifts or great keepsakes to show your support for the library!
So, whether you’ve been catching up on reading during those quiet moments without TV or internet or just looking for a great weekend activity with the family, this Fall Book Sale is an event you won’t want to miss. Mark your calendars and get ready to uncover some hidden literary gems!
See you there, and happy reading!
