Before the competition kicks off, the fun starts a couple of days earlier with a special day just for the kids!
Mark your calendars for September 26 because Youth Angling Day is happening at Gibson Pond Park from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM. This event is designed for children aged 4 to 18, and guess what? It’s totally free! How great is that?
Kids of all abilities will have the chance to dive into the exciting world of fishing with hands-on education provided through the International Game Fish Association’s Passport to Fishing Program. This is not just any fishing experience! Kids will get to learn from the best in the business—USAngling athletes, coaches, and ambassadors will be there, sharing their knowledge and skills.

After the fun-filled Youth Angling Day, the excitement continues with the Pan American/USAngling Challenge Cup Kayak Championship, taking place on the stunning waters of Lake Murray. This championship, which runs from September 27 to 29, will attract elite kayak anglers from all around the globe. We’re talking competitors from the USA, Canada, Mexico, Guatemala, El Salvador, Puerto Rico, Cuba, the Philippines, Venezuela, and many others!
Anglers from Pan American nations will be fishing for the prestigious title of the 3rd Pan American Kayak Fishing Championship, while other international competitors will vie for the coveted USAngling Challenge Cup.
This is an event that promises to showcase some incredible talent and passion for fishing, bringing together people from various backgrounds and experiences.
