Exciting Showdowns Ahead as High School Football Season Nears Conclusion in Montana

High School Football Power Rankings – October 21, 2024

This week, the high school football scene is heating up with exciting matchups across the state. As the regular season winds down, here’s a look at the latest power rankings and some significant games ahead.

Class AA

At the top, Bozeman Gallatin continues to lead the pack with an impressive record of 8-0. They solidified their No. 1 spot with a strong victory over No. 3 Billings West, winning 39-21 last Friday. This week, they will face Billings Skyview, who holds a 1-7 record.

Helena Capital follows closely at 7-1 after crushing Kalispell Flathead 57-17. They play Butte this week, a team sitting at 3-5. Kalispell Glacier also stands strong at 7-1, recently beating No. 5 Missoula Big Sky 35-7 and is set to play Missoula Sentinel (4-4).

The other teams in the top five are Billings West at 7-1 and Helena at 4-4, who managed a close 13-10 win over Butte last week.

Class A

Frenchtown remains unbeaten at 8-0, dominating Stevensville 56-0 in their last game. They will visit Butte Central (3-4) this week. Billings Central is also 8-0 after a big 63-7 win against Lockwood. They’re heading to face Miles City (5-3).

No. 3 Dillon hopes to keep their momentum, coming off a 49-0 win against Butte Central. They’re heading to Libby (3-5) next. Meanwhile, Havre (6-2) takes on Lewistown (6-2) in an important matchup this week.

Class B

No. 1 Malta is making waves at 8-0, recently defeating Cut Bank 45-16 and will play Fairfield (4-3) this week. ManhattanJefferson 37-19 and is heading to Columbus (4-3).

Florence also shown promise at 7-1 and will face Missoula Loyola (4-3) this week. Jefferson looks to bounce back against Townsend (4-3) after their recent loss.

8-Man

The 8-Man division is led by Fairview, who is also 8-0 after defeating Ekalaka 41-16. They are set to play Wibaux (2-6) this week. Belt (8-0) continues to impress, crushing Shelby 67-16 and will take on Rocky Boy (0-7).

All eyes are on the match between No. 4 Circle and No. 8 Culbertson, both 7-1, as they clash this week in a key battle.

6-Man

In 6-Man action, Centerville jumped to the top spot at 7-1, following a massive 68-38 win over previously top-ranked D-G-S-G. This week, they are set to compete against Grass Range-Winnett (4-4). Meanwhile, Box Elder remains undefeated at 7-0, having beaten Big Sandy 61-32 and they will have a week off.
