Lexington is buzzing with activity, and it’s becoming quite the hotspot for food, fun, and fabulous shopping experiences! Over the years, the Main Street corridor has watched new restaurants, bars, boutiques, and all sorts of attractions pop up, and now there’s even more to look forward to. A huge part of this lively scene is the famous Icehouse Amphitheater, which attracts thousands with its fun lineup of concerts, movie nights, markets, and more, combining to create an electrifying downtown atmosphere.
Just when you thought things couldn’t get any better, a brand new barbershop has joined the mix! Circa Barbershop, which originally started in Columbia back in 2014, is now calling Lexington home after officially opening its doors on October 1st. Located at 101-B E. Main St., the shop sits conveniently behind Craig Reagin Clothiers and the fun-filled Craft Axe Throwing, right across from the popular Cribb’s Sandwich & Sweet Shop. Oh, and if you’re wondering how close it is to the amphitheater, just a hop across Church Street!
The talented Halie Holland is at the helm of this exciting new venture. At just 28 years old, Halie has spent the past five years working with Circa and feels super prepared to take on the responsibility of running her own shop. “It’s definitely a big leap,” she said, “but I’m thankful I have my whole team. The way Circa operates, you have a whole team behind you and you are never on your own. We have a shop family and all work together.” How sweet does that sound?
The Lexington Circa Barbershop plans to employ four barbers and has already kicked things off with two on board. As with any barbershop, getting a reservation is a wise move, and you can easily do this through the Circa website. With locations sprawled all over South Carolina and even Pittsburgh, Lexington is thrilled to be the newest addition!
The founder of Circa Barbershop, DR Granger, shared that they were eyeing Lexington for almost two years before the perfect spot became available. “Halie has been with the team for a long time, and we have really been looking for the right spot to partner with her on,” he mentioned. It’s clear the community vibe in Lexington captured their hearts!
And speaking of community, visitors to Circa will get a two-for-one treat because the barbershop is so close to Craig Reagin Clothiers. After getting a snazzy new look, you can pop into the neighboring clothing store for some stylish shopping. After all, looking your best isn’t just about your hair, it’s about your outfit too! As Halie wisely noted, “I feel like upscale men’s grooming and upscale men’s clothing go hand-in-hand. You can look your best from head to toe.” Sounds like a solid plan!
The building that now houses Circa has a rich history, dating back to 1919, and it has been a cherished spot in downtown Lexington. The renovation of the 2,300-square-foot lower level, carried out by Chapin Commercial Construction, included not just the barbershop but also office space and a kitchen area to support Craig Reagin’s operations.
Lexington’s Main Street is seeing more than just new haircuts. Recent announcements include the opening of TakoSushi at 102-C W. Main St. and plans for a new Voodoo Brewing location next door. Plus, a modern steakhouse is set to replace Alodia’s at 101 W. Main St., thanks to a trio of restaurateurs.
With all these thrilling updates, it’s safe to say that downtown Lexington is not just growing—it’s thriving! So, whether you’re looking to catch a concert, grab a bite to eat, or freshen up your look, there’s never been a better time to explore what this charming town has to offer!
