Columbia’s Spectacular 46th Veterans Day Parade is Just Around the Corner!

Columbia, S.C. is buzzing with excitement as residents prepare to honor the brave men and women who’ve served our country during the 46th Veterans Day Parade. Mark your calendars for Monday, November 11, because this beloved event promises to be an unforgettable celebration!

Get Ready for a Grand Celebration

Set to kick off at 11 a.m., the parade will begin at the intersection of Sumter and Laurel Streets. If you don’t want to miss any of the action, make sure you’re in your spot by 10:45 a.m., when the parade steps off. This event isn’t just any parade—the Columbia Veterans Day Parade is one of the largest in the Southeast, and it’s a wonderful way to show appreciation for our veterans.

What to Expect This Year

Every year, the parade features a dazzling array of floats, marching bands, and veterans from all branches of the military. To help you have the best experience possible, it’s important to be aware of the roadway closures ahead of time. Here are some key streets you might want to avoid:

  • Washington and Marion
  • Mid-block 1300 Sumter
  • Mid-block 1400 Sumter
  • Main and Calhoun
  • Laurel and Sumter
  • And many more…

These closures will start as early as 7:30 a.m. on the day of the parade, so plan accordingly!

VIP Parking Options

If you plan to head downtown, you’ll be glad to know there’s a VIP parking option available at the City Garage located at 1100 Washington Street. It’s the perfect place to park and hop on over to the parade!
