The University of South Carolina softball team is set to resume its suspended game from March 27 against Charleston Southern at Carolina Softball Stadium in Columbia. The Gamecocks will take on the Buccaneers Tuesday at 3 p.m., with free admission for spectators and live coverage on SEC Network+.
During the originally scheduled doubleheader last month, the first game was halted due to rain in the top of the second inning, with South Carolina holding a 1-0 lead over Charleston Southern. The Gamecocks secured their advantage with a solo home run by Kianna Jones, delivering an early blow to the Buccaneers.
The suspended game will pick up where it left off, with Charleston Southern’s Cadence Walding at bat with a 2-1 count. Both teams will have the opportunity to continue the matchup and see who comes out on top in this tightly contested battle.
The Gamecocks will hit the road after the rescheduled game, facing off against Kentucky on Friday, April 26 at 6:30 p.m. in another exciting SEC matchup in Lexington.
In their most recent games, the Gamecocks turned heads with impressive performances. Despite dropping the series finale to the Gators, South Carolina showcased their strength by turning four double plays in a single game and delivering a remarkable four home runs to take down No. 10 ranked Florida.
