The No. 4 ranked South Carolina Equestrian team (6-5, 1-4) is set take on the No. 5 Georgia Bulldogs (6-4,3-2) to round out the SEC portion of the 2023-24 schedule on Saturday, Feb. 24 at 1:00 p.m. Fans are encouraged to arrive early in participate in Equifest (beginning at 11:30), followed by the Senior Day ceremony at Noon. Seniors and fifth-years Jordan Allen, Alexa Aureliano, Kiersten Beckner, Sydney DeGrazia, Emma Lane, Maro Reppas, Emilia Reutimann, Maddie Schaefer, and Chloe Stephenson will be recognized. The Gamecocks took a trip to Texas to face No. 1 TCU and No. 2 Texas A&M, putting up fights in each meet but ultimately falling in both. Despite the losses, Grace Rabb scored a new career-high in Fences with an 85 against both teams, and Natalie Jayne earned her fourth MOP of the season on the Flat with a 78-75 win over TCU’s Laurel Smith.
Saturday’s meet with Georgia will be the 41st in program history. The Bulldogs currently lead the series 27-13, with the last Gamecocks victory (10-9) coming at home in 2022 (Nov. 12). South Carolina last saw the then No. 7 Bulldogs on Oct. 13, falling 4-15 on the road. Mary Hunter Millet scored the lone point on the Flat for her team, scoring a season-high of 85 on Granite to defeat Sophia Pilla. Senior Chloe Stephenson started the points off in Reining, coming out on top with a 71-70.5 win on Banjo over Raegan Shepherd. Senior co-captain Emilia Reutimann rounded out points for the first half, taking hers 68-67.5 against Jax Bound on Apollo. Co-captain Madeline Schaefer picked up her point for South Carolina in Fences, tallying a season-high 88 on Campo to take down Melissa Deryn Foster’s 86. The Bulldogs swept Horsemanship 3-0, but Ruby Voortmeyer saw a career-high of 75 in her tying ride with Grace Himes on Teddy.
