Big news for families in Columbia, South Carolina! The beloved kids’ show, Paw Patrol, is making a stop in town with its live stage adaptation, titled “Paw Patrol Live: ‘Heroes Unite!’”. This exciting event won’t just be a treat for the little ones; it also features a familiar face from the local scene. K’nique Eichelberger, a Columbia native, will be taking the stage to entertain audiences of all ages.
K’nique expressed his enthusiasm, saying, “I was born and raised in Columbia, and this will be my first time performing here professionally.” For him, this opportunity is more than just a gig. It’s a full-circle moment that reflects his journey in the arts, which started right in his hometown. Performing in Columbia holds extra special meaning for K’nique as it’s where his passion for theatre first blossomed.
His passion was nurtured by educators like Lisa Rayner, K’nique’s former music teacher and the current fine arts coordinator for Richland School District Two. Lisa recalled, “He had such a love for singing and acting and the arts in general.” She paints a picture of K’nique as a bright, talented student who always brought energy to the classroom. With her encouragement, he took his first steps into theatre. “She cast me in my first play,” K’nique reminisced. This encouragement played a crucial role in shaping his future. “Her believing in me made me believe in myself,” he added.
With this new role, K’nique is not only pursuing his dreams but also paying it forward. He recently visited students at Pontiac Elementary School, where he surprised them with a sneak peek of the upcoming show. During this enlightening visit, K’nique took time to answer their questions about pursuing the arts, inspiring them to dream big. “At Richland Two we are purpose-driven to make kids future-ready, and he really touched on some of those things,” said Pontiac principal, Dr. Andrea Peralta.
Every performer has their cheerleaders, and for K’nique, one of his biggest supporters is his mother, Lashay Isaac. She reflected on her son’s journey, sharing, “It’s just amazing to see what you pour into your children when they’re young come to fruition.” With every step he takes, it’s clear that family support has been pivotal in K’nique’s success.
The excitement continues to build as the show dates approach! Tickets for the live performance of “Paw Patrol Live: ‘Heroes Unite!’” are available for purchase online. Performances are scheduled for October 12 and 13 at the Colonial Life Arena.
