Stuff the Sleigh Event for Our Furry Friends

If you’re an animal lover, you won’t want to miss the “Stuff the Sleigh” event on December 7 from 4–7 p.m. at The Dales Biergarten and Bottle Shoppe (3150 Platt Springs Road, West Columbia). This event is a fantastic opportunity to support Final Victory Animal Rescue. Bring in donations for the shelter and enjoy some lovely adult beverages and great company. Who wouldn’t want to toast to our furry pals in need?

Art Lovers Rejoice!

Art enthusiasts will find plenty to indulge in this month! Alexandra’s Art Studio (111 Sparkleberry Crossing Road) is offering marvelous adult and kids classes, as well as art camps for creatives of all ages. If you’re looking for a festive outing, head over to the Historic Melrose Art in the Yard on December 8 from 1–5 p.m.. It’s an outdoor wonder, stretching across several city blocks, perfect for a lovely winter stroll, art appreciation, and some fresh air!

Get Ready to Make Music!

Love theater? The Midlands Light Opera Society is holding auditions for their production of “Pirates of Penzance” on December 2 at 6:30 p.m. at St. John’s Episcopal Church (2827 Wheat Street). No audition needed for chorus members. Dust off that vocal cord and come join the fun! Holiday Happenings Galore!

The holiday season is officially in full swing with events like the 37th Annual Columbia Christmas Pageant on the weekend of December 14 and 15. Scheduled to take place at First Baptist of Columbia, this pageant is a local tradition, showcasing an incredible cast and captivating performances. Make sure to grab your tickets!

Gingerbread Wonderland

Who’s ready for a bit of sweetness? The South Carolina Gingerbread House Competition is set for December 7 from 9 a.m.–1 p.m. at AIA Columbia, and it’s bound to be a mouthwatering spectacle. Whether you’re a serious builder or just want to marvel at the creativity, this event is perfect for the whole family!

Let’s Dance!

If staying active is your jam, check out Palmetto Scottish Country Dance held every Monday at 6–7:45 p.m. at the Eastminster Presbyterian Community Life Center. All ages are welcome. Or join the Adult Ballet Classes on Thursdays at 7 p.m. at the Columbia Music Festival Association for a bit of elegance and grace.

Healthy Living for Our Seniors

Seniors of Columbia have a plethora of resources at their disposal! An important health and wellness event will take place on November 21 from 10 a.m.–2 p.m. at Dutch Square Mall. Enjoy free health screenings, informative workshops, and learn more about essential services available within the community.

Join the Fun with Local Clubs!

Looking to meet new folks? There are clubs galore! The Spring Valley Rotary Club meets every Thursday at 1 p.m., and the Forest Acres Rotary Club gathers every first four Wednesdays. Joining a club is a fantastic way to connect with like-minded community members while doing good in the area!
