In a delightful celebration right here in Columbia, two local lovebirds tied the knot on October 19, 2024. The charming Chapel at The Farm at Ridgeway was the enchanting backdrop for the wedding of Courtney Lafaye Floyd and Colin James Comer, making it a day to remember for everyone involved.
The ceremony began at 4 p.m. with the Honorable Joseph F. Anderson Jr. officiating. As attendees settled into their seats, the warm autumn sun bathed the setting, creating a cozy atmosphere filled with love. The bride, who was escorted by her father, radiated beauty and happiness as she entered the chapel. With her parents, Ms. Mary Lafaye Floyd and Mr. Richard E. B. Floyd, proudly giving her away, the air was thick with emotion as they embarked on a new chapter together.
Courtney, a local gal, has a special connection with Columbia, being the daughter of beloved residents in the community. She is the granddaughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. George Eugene Lafaye Jr. and the late Mr. and Mrs. Herron O’Berry Floyd Jr.. Known for her friendly smile and her hard work at Whit-Ash Furniture Store, she is a cherished part of the Columbia fabric.
Colin, on the other hand, is known around town for his grit and determination, running his own business, Comer Landscaping. He is the son of Ms. Carolyn Machovina Comer and Mr. Daniel Kelly Comer, and the legacy of his family stands strong with roots reaching back to his grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. James Machovina and Mr. and Mrs. Carl Oslon.
After the heartfelt ceremony, guests made their way to the reception at The Farm at Ridgeway where the celebrations truly kicked off! The atmosphere was lively, filled with laughter, music, and the clinking of glasses as attendees toasted the happy couple. Everyone had a wonderful time ripping up the dance floor, making memories that would last a lifetime.
The bridal party was a wonderful mix of family and friends who stood by Courtney and Colin on their big day. Courtney’s sister, Catherine Stewart Floyd, took on the esteemed role of maid of honor, while bridesmaids Megan Crosby, Chelsee Weathersby, Katherine Encinas, and Alexa Napoli brought a touch of elegance to the day.
Meanwhile, Colin’s brother, Alex Comer, proudly stood as the best man along with groomsmen Mark Comer, Drew Kline, Evans Velasco, and Brett Player. Their camaraderie and support added to the day’s warmth and joy.
After a blissful honeymoon, Colin and Courtney have plans to make their home in the lovely city of Cayce, S.C.. With their shared values and strong local ties, there is no doubt that this couple has a bright future ahead filled with love, laughter, and community spirit.
