Circle K Plans New Convenience Store Location in Lexington County

Circle K Eyes New Location in Lexington County

Exciting news, Lexington residents! One of the most recognizable convenience store brands is planning to set up shop in our area, and it’s none other than Circle K. Known for their quick bites and everyday essentials, Circle K is in the early stages of planning a new location at the northeast corner of Augusta Highway and Wise Ferry Road, which is right in the heart of a bustling part of town.

What’s the Plan?

The potential location is listed among the upcoming projects in the Lexington County Planning Commission’s September agenda. According to the October agenda packet, they have even submitted required stormwater management fees, which is a good sign that they are moving forward with the necessary paperwork. However, it looks like we might need to hold our horses—construction isn’t projected to start until 2025, as confirmed by Frank Cason, the CEO of Cason Development Group, who owns the property.

A Little Background on Circle K

For those who may not know, Circle K has quite a legacy! Established back in 1951 in Texas, this convenience powerhouse has expanded dramatically and now boasts the title of having nearly 7,000 stores across the United States. You can even find them in places like Norway, Sweden, and Denmark!

What can you expect when you visit a Circle K? They offer a smorgasbord of convenience store staples such as fresh coffee, sodas, snacks, car care products, and more. It’s that go-to spot for many folks on the go. Plus, who could forget the brand’s cameo in the cult classic movie Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure? Ted Logan, played by Keanu Reeves, famously mentioned, “strange things are afoot at the Circle K,” which really helped propel the brand into pop culture fame.

The New Location and Traffic Details

If you’re curious about where this new Circle K will be located, it’s about a mile east of Lexington High School. This area sees a lot of activity, considering that approximately 24,000 cars per day travel along that section of Augusta Highway, according to data from the state Department of Transportation. With several nearby restaurants, medical offices, and neighborhoods, it seems like this location will be a hit with both locals and visitors passing through.

Circle K’s Growing Presence

Not only is this new store in the works, but Circle K is also in the process of building a new establishment at 1512 North Lake Drive. This shows that Circle K is making some solid moves to become a fixture in our community.

In Conclusion

For those of you who love the convenience of quick snacks and beverages, it looks like help is on the way! As Circle K prepares to join the Lexington landscape, we can look forward to having more options for our convenience needs. While we may have to wait a couple of years, the buzz about this new location is sure to generate conversations around town. Stay tuned for more updates as this project develops!
