North Carolina men’s lacrosse faceoff specialist Brady Wambach was named to Inside Lacrosse’s All-America list, announced Sunday evening. Wambach, a native of Pittsford, N.Y., earns Honorable Mention honors for the first time in his college career.
The freshman joins teammate Owen Duffy, who earned Honorable Mention All-America recognition from USA Lacrosse earlier this week. Wambach appeared in all 14 contests this spring for Carolina, winning 146 faceoffs. His effort at the faceoff stripe was the third most faceoff wins by a Tar Heel freshman in program history.
Brady ended the 2024 campaign with a .611 faceoff win percentage, which led the Atlantic Coast Conference and is fourth nationally. Wambach led the Tar Heels with 85 ground balls this spring, posting two games with 10-or-more ground balls. His 6.07 ground balls per game ranked in the top-25 nationally.
Offensively, Wambach scored four goals and dished out four assists. His versatility and impact on both ends of the field were crucial for the Tar Heels throughout the season.
Throughout the season, Wambach showcased his skills and consistency, establishing himself as a key player for North Carolina. His recognition as an Honorable Mention All-American highlights his dedication and talent on the lacrosse field.
