Tragic Car Crash in Lexington County Claims One Life

LEXINGTON COUNTY, S.C. — A tragic car accident this past Saturday morning left one person dead and three others injured, according to reports from the South Carolina Highway Patrol. The accident unfolded around 9:20 a.m. on South Lake Drive, just near Bluefield Road, creating a scene that no one in the community will soon forget.

Witnesses reported seeing a 2016 Dodge van traveling westbound on South Lake Drive at the same time a 2019 Dodge pickup truck was heading east. The two vehicles collided in what appeared to be a serious crash. In moments like these, it’s hard to wrap our heads around the tragic outcomes.

Corporal Nick Pye of the South Carolina Highway Patrol provided details about the incident, stating that the driver of the Dodge van was rushed to a nearby hospital. Their name has yet to be publicly released by the Lexington County Coroner’s Office, as they work to notify family members.

Alongside the van driver, two passengers who were in the van also sustained injuries and were taken to local hospitals for treatment. The driver of the pickup truck was likewise transported to an area hospital, but thankfully, details regarding their condition remain unclear.
