The very first Camp Cola Fest, a unique summer camp-themed music festival, will make its debut on July 27 in Columbia, offering music enthusiasts a new destination in their festival adventures.
The inaugural event, orchestrated by production powerhouses Scherr Productions and KayElle Creative, will begin at noon and continue for a whole 12 hours. The festival, located at Hangar Lofts on South Edisto Ave, will feature a 17-artist lineup spread across two stages. Local musicians like WRIT3RS BLOCK, Kick. Snare. Crash., and the headlining act, Opus & the Frequencies, promise to provide a rich music experience to the attendees.
The festival offers General Admission tickets for $20, which grants attendees access to the main Camp Cola Stage. For music lovers wanting a more intimate experience, there’s the Most Valuable Camper ticket option priced at $40. This premium ticket provides access to an additional MVC Cabin Stage, which will host more performances, and an after-party featuring Stankface.
Additional ticketed options for guests wishing to delve into other activities include a Paint and Pour session with mimosas, priced at $30, a Cocktail Creation Course also for $30, and a Camp EDM rave which is available for just $10.
The festival also offers a unique “Songwriter’s Circle” event. Priced at an additional $10, it gives festival-goers an exclusive opportunity to meet a selection of the performing artists and gain an understanding of their creative processes. This addition is expected to be a significant attraction of the event.
Lauren Scherr, owner of Scherr Productions, articulates the vision behind the new festival, recalling the frequently asked question, “Who’s the next Hootie and the Blowfish?” Scherr hopes to help discover and foster the next big act right from Columbia through events like the Camp Cola Fest.
Camp Cola Fest aims to deliver a vibrant and immersive festival atmosphere with local talent at the fore, complemented by local vendors, food trucks, and on-theme activities. Borrowing the ethos and carefree spirit she’s observed at festivals across the country, Scherr hopes to recreate the same here in Columbia. As she puts it, “That’s the vibe we’re going for. It’s lots of fun.”
Tickets for the Camp Cola Fest range from $10 to $40 and can be found on the event’s official website.
