New York: Beyoncé Showers University Of South Carolina Women’s Basketball Team With Love

Beyoncé demonstrates her support for women’s basketball by celebrating the recent victory of the University of South Carolina women’s basketball team. On Wednesday (April 17), Coach Dawn Staley took to X (formerly Twitter) to announce that Queen B had sent flowers and a heartfelt note to celebrate their remarkable season.

Bey’s Heartfelt Gesture

“A video thank you. Look at the flowers. I don’t even think they grow these here in South Carolina,” began Staley. “Look at the merchandise. If you know, you know,” she added, signaling to a t-shirt emblazoned with the phrase “Always Been Country.”

“But, I’m gonna read this card here,” she continued. “To Coach Staley and the entire South Carolina Gamecocks: Me and my family watched your games and cheered you on through the entire season. (repeat) I’m so proud of you.”

The Queen’s Message

“That’s Bey! Bey and her family!” exclaimed Staley, with Bey’s Cowboy Carter playing in the background. “Yes, Mr. Carter. Yes, Blue, you did your thing, Blue, Sir and Rumi. Bey, thank you. We appreciate you. We’re honored to wear your gear.”

Staley added that the “Texas Hold ‘Em” singer signed off with an “All my love.”

Victory and Records

Beyoncé’s move comes hot on the heels of South Carolina’s triumph over the Caitlin Clark-powered University of Iowa Hawkeyes in the NCAA Division 1 championships, clinching an 87-75 victory. Meanwhile, Beyoncé’s latest album keeps smashing records! First, Spotify crowned it as the most-streamed album in a single day of 2024. Then, Amazon Music hailed it as Bey’s biggest debut ever on their platform. The project, released on March 29, has also climbed the charts, landing spots atop the Billboard 200 and Top Country Albums chart.
