Hey, Chapin residents! Are you ready for some fabulous news? The much-loved Aquarius Spa & Salon is gearing up for a spectacular celebration as they unveil their brand-new facility, just in time for the festive season. Mark your calendars for Saturday, December 7, because this isn’t just any old opening—it’s a grand affair featuring a ribbon cutting at 5:30 p.m. followed by a holiday open house from 6 to 8 p.m.!
Let’s take a moment to appreciate how far this local gem has come. It all started back in 2005 when Marie Keeton launched Aquarius from a quaint, 1,000-square-foot farmhouse on Columbia Avenue. Can you imagine? Over the years, the spa moved to the historic Robinson-Hiller House, where it thrived for more than 17 years. But hang tight, because this story doesn’t end there!
In a big leap forward, the Keetons have built a bright and trendy space right next door, measuring an impressive 5,300 square feet! That’s double the size of their previous location, allowing them to offer even more luxurious experiences. Think spacious treatment rooms, a chic head spa, and a serene room for relaxation that feels like pure bliss!
As any loyal customer knows, atmosphere is key at the spa. Marie has ensured that the new location maintains the charm and character that made the old Robinson-Hiller House so special. “It’s been great! We have the space we need,” she said, noting the challenge of bringing over the neighborhood vibe. “So far, our guests have been really happy with the way this feels.” And we can’t blame them; who doesn’t want to relax in a space that balances modern elegance with cozy charm?
What can you expect inside Aquarius Spa & Salon? Prepare yourself for an array of pampering services—from hair styling and manicures to indulging massages and rejuvenating facials. Plus, they’ve got you covered with their partnership with About Face Aesthetics & Wellness, offering services like Botox, fillers, hormone therapy, and more. Talk about a one-stop-shop for all things beauty and wellness!
If shopping sounds like your kind of fun, pop into their retail area where you’ll find a lovely selection of creams, lotions, and cosmetics—along with some snazzy clothing and handbags. “Everything we use in treatment rooms or the salons we try to sell in the retail area,” Marie added. “So people can take home their experience.” Now that’s a thoughtful touch!
As the Keetons’ journey reflects the growth of Chapin itself, it’s worth noting just how much the town has changed. Back in 1990, Chapin had only 347 residents. Flash forward to today, and there are nearly 2,000 people calling it home within the city limits alone! Marie fondly reminisces, “When I met my husband 36 years ago, there were no stoplights. Just stop signs. It was very different.” Yet through all this growth, she hopes Chapin retains its beloved small-town feel.
Chad Lindler, president of Chapin Commercial Construction, who helped bring this new facility to life, shared his pride in supporting local growth. “Building this beautiful new space for Aquarius has been rewarding,” he noted. “We’re fortunate to partner with a local business while keeping the warmth and charm of Chapin.”
If you’re as excited as we are, don’t forget to RSVP for the grand opening and holiday open house via the spa’s Facebook page. Whether you’re looking to experience some much-deserved pampering or just want to soak up the holiday spirit, Aquarius Spa & Salon is ready to welcome you with open arms. Cheers to new beginnings in Chapin!
