Hey there, Blythewood! The excitement is building as our *beloved annual Christmas Parade* is just around the corner! Mark your calendars for Sunday, December 8 at 2 p.m. and get ready to celebrate the season with friends and family in downtown Blythewood.
This year’s parade theme is “Winter Wonderland,” and it promises to bring all the festive joy we’ve come to know and love! The atmosphere will be filled with magic as we watch the holiday spirit come alive with approximately 60 entries making their way down the streets. Can you imagine the sights and sounds that will fill the air?
From the moment the parade kicks off, you will see a wonderful mix of entries featuring everything from local schools, sports teams, and clubs to businesses, civic organizations, and yes, even stunning horses! Expect to see dancing girls, musicians, and some fluffy puppies that will surely melt your heart. It’s going to be a dazzling display of community spirit that really showcases the best of Blythewood.
Imagine families gathered on the sidewalks, catching up with friends, sipping on hot cocoa, and watching in awe as the dazzling floats glide by. There will be something for everyone and, trust us, you won’t want to miss a second of the fun!
Adding to the excitement, we are thrilled to announce that *Dawndy Mercer Plank*, a retired WIS-TV news anchor, will be back again this year, serving as the parade’s emcee. Dawndy will be joined by Janet Moak, the advertising manager from WLTX-TV. They’ll be working their magic from two locations during the parade – the Blythewood Consignment Shop on Main Street and the Christian Assistance Bridge on Blythewood Road. Their lively commentary will surely keep the energy up and the spirits high!
The parade isn’t just for spectators; it’s a celebration that welcomes everyone from the community to take part. If you’re interested in joining as a sponsor, we would love to have you! The parade is sponsored by several fantastic local businesses, including *Palmetto Citizens Federal Credit Union, Humana,* and *Thermal Technologies*, to name just a few. If you’d like your business to shine in the spotlight, reach out to the Town Hall at 803-754-0501 and find out how you can be part of this vibrant community event.
Blythewood’s annual Christmas Parade is more than just an event; it’s a heartwarming reminder of what community and celebration are all about. So grab your loved ones, bundle up, and come out to support your local schools, businesses, and organizations as they spread holiday cheer throughout our beautiful town. Get ready for a day filled with laughter, joy, and unforgettable memories!
We can’t wait to see you on December 8, cheering on the parade and joining in the festivities! Let’s make it a Winter Wonderland to remember!
