The tornado touched down at 8:43 p.m. just north of Lake Murray near Caro Lane and traveled approximately 6.17 miles before dissipating at 8:49 p.m. Key locations affected included Lake Tide Drive, Amick’s Ferry Road, Highway 76, and the vicinity of Chapin Elementary, Intermediate, and Middle Schools.

Significant damage was observed along Lake Tide Drive, where numerous trees were either uprooted or snapped. The tornado moved northeast, crossing several roads such as Highwater Court and Sandbar Road, and passed near Piney Woods Elementary School before lifting. The storm also caused power outages that impacted over 3,000 households in Lexington County at its peak.
