Holiday Magic Lights Up Cayce!

Welcome to Cayce! This charming city embraced the holiday spirit in the best way possible over the weekend as thousands of locals gathered on 12th Street for the much-anticipated Annual Holiday Parade of Lights. On this magical evening, families and friends cuddled up in lawn chairs, eagerly awaiting the delightful spectacle that had become a winter tradition.

Parade Day Festivities

This year’s parade was absolutely stunning, featuring over 100 dazzling floats that lit up the night sky. The atmosphere was festive, with cheer in every air-filled smile. One local resident, David Cannon, shared his excitement, saying, “Our family comes out to watch every year, all 16 of us, and it really is something we look forward to each year because we love watching it together.” It’s that kind of togetherness that makes this event so special!

To kick off the day’s festivities, people had a wonderful opportunity to hop on a holiday shuttle running between Cayce and West Columbia. This shuttle, a gem in itself, stopped at local businesses, giving everyone a chance to shop and dine in the area. Whether it was stopping by the beloved Zesto for a quick bite or grabbing a sweet treat from Krispy Kreme, the community was buzzing with activity!

The Perfect Weather

The weather on Saturday was simply delightful. With a high around 65°F, the partly cloudy skies welcomed everyone with mild temperatures that were perfect for a family outing. As the sun dipped down, it set the stage for a sparkling display of lights twinkling against a gentle winter backdrop.

As nighttime approached, our picturesque skies transitioned into beautiful, considerable cloudiness followed by the fog rolling in after midnight, making it feel as though the holiday magic was still lingering in the air. The temperatures dropped mildly to around 49°F after nighttime, but that didn’t stop the merriment.

Community Spirit Shines Bright

The parade has indeed grown into a beloved tradition where families make memories year after year, celebrating together as a community. Local businesses take part in the festivities, welcoming the crowds with warmth and joy. As floats pass by, each one tells a story filled with creativity and community pride, showcasing the incredible talents of those living in and around Cayce.

The cheers and applause filled the air as each float came into view, sparking joy and happiness amongst the crowd. Youngsters waved excitedly, with some even sharing that one of their favorite moments was seeing Santa himself pass by on his glittering sleigh!

Looking Ahead

Following this year’s success, the anticipation for next year’s parade has already begun! Many locals are brainstorming ideas for new floats and even bigger displays of creativity. The Holiday Parade of Lights isn’t just an event; it’s a celebration of community, passion, and the spirit of the season.

So, if you missed the parade this year, mark your calendars and set a reminder to be part of this magical celebration next winter! You won’t want to miss out on the laughter, love, and lights that truly make the holiday season in Cayce a special time for all!
