Irmo Welcomes the 50th Annual Lexington Medical Center Irmo Okra Strut

Hey there, Irmo! Get ready to mark your calendars because the 50th Lexington Medical Center Irmo Okra Strut is just around the corner! This year, the fun kicks off on September 27-28 at Moore Park, which is the new name for the former Irmo Community Park. It’s going to be a fantastic two days filled with lively music, tasty food, and plenty of activities for the whole family.

Fun for Everyone

With activities designed for all ages, the Irmo Okra Strut promises to be a blast! From thrilling amusement rides for the adventure seekers to an array of local vendors showcasing their culinary delights, there’s something here for everyone. And let’s not forget the star of the show – okra! Whether you’re a fan of fried okra, pickled okra, or just love the Southern charm it represents, you’ll have plenty of delicious options to choose from. It’s a celebration of community and local culture that really embodies the spirit of Irmo.

A Musical Celebration

One of the highlights of the Okra Strut is the live music lineup that’s sure to bring in the crowds. On Friday night, get ready to rock out with Simply Shania, a popular tribute band to the renowned country artist Shania Twain. Right after that, party guests can enjoy the upbeat tunes of Cowboy Mouth, guaranteeing a night to remember!

Then on Saturday, the excitement continues with the winners from the Irmo Battle of the Bands, Say Femme, taking the stage. Following them is the amazing tribute band Absolute Queen, who will keep you singing along to classics that everyone knows and loves. Each performance is set to bring energy and joy, making it a perfect family-friendly evening.

Convenient Parking and Shuttle Service

Worried about parking? Don’t be! The planning committee has made it super convenient for everyone attending. There’s parking available at several local churches, and a free shuttle service will whisk you right to the fairgrounds. If you prefer closer options, there is also parking just a stone’s throw away from Moore Park. So, you can focus on having a great time without the hassle of finding a spot!

Join the Celebration!

Be sure to join the community on September 27, starting at 6 p.m. for the opening night festivities, and return on the 28th for a full day of excitement starting at 9 a.m. This is not just an event; it’s a chance to gather, celebrate, and create lasting memories with family and friends—a true testament to the heart of Irmo!
