WPIAL High School Football Championships Set for November 23 at Acrisure Stadium

In Pittsburgh, excitement is building as the WPIAL high school football championships approach. The games will take place this Saturday at Acrisure Stadium, showcasing some of the best teams from around the area. Fans can look forward to an action-packed day with four championship games scheduled.

The first game will kick off at 11 a.m. featuring Fort Cherry (13-0) going up against Clairton (13-0) in the Class A championship. Both teams are undefeated this season, which promises to make for an intense matchup.

At 2 p.m., the Class 2A championship will feature Seton LaSalle (11-0) facing off against South Park (11-1). This game will also be a showdown between strong contenders, with Seton LaSalle looking to remain undefeated.

The action continues at 5 p.m. with the Class 3A title game, as Avonworth (10-3) takes on Central Valley (7-5). Avonworth has had a solid season and will aim for a strong finish against Central Valley.

The final championship game of the day will begin at 8 p.m., featuring Pine-Richland (11-1) battling Peters Township (11-1) in the Class 5A championship. With both teams boasting impressive records, this game is sure to draw a large crowd.

In addition to the WPIAL championships, the PIAA playoffs are also gearing up with notable matchups this Friday. Central Catholic (10-2) will face State College (11-1) at Forest Hills at 7 p.m., while several other teams across different classes will be competing for a chance to advance. As the weekend approaches, the anticipation for the playoffs builds within the community. High school football continues to be a significant part of the local culture, and this weekend will be a highlight of the season.
