South Carolina women’s swimming completed the first night of the NCAA Championships with an appearance in the 800 free relay on Wednesday. Freshman Ellery Ottem followed by sophomores Amy Riordan, Jordan Agliano, and Meaghan Harnish combined for a time of 7:04.21 that landed the group in 20th place. The group’s time makes them the fourth-fastest relay team in program history.
The NCAA Championships will continue on Thursday with the 500 free, 200 IM, 50 free, 1-meter diving, and the 200 free relay. South Carolina’s Greta Pelzek will be the team’s lone competitor on Thursday, swimming the 200 IM.
