Vermont High School Fall Sports Season Kicks Off with Exciting Matches
This week in Vermont, high school sports are in full swing as teams across the state have started their fall season. From soccer to volleyball, teams have begun competing fiercely, producing some thrilling results.
Soccer Highlights
The soccer fields have been buzzing with activity. North Country triumphed over Peoples with a solid score of 3-1. Josi Fortin contributed to the win with a goal, while Dakotah Bowen shined by scoring twice. Rice had an impressive victory, defeating Colchester 7-0, with Lanah Quong leading the scoreboard with three goals. On the girls’ side, Burlington secured a narrow win against Middlebury with a score of 1-0, thanks to Josephine Neary‘s decisive goal.
Volleyball Update
The volleyball courts have been just as action-packed. Essex dominated Rice with a clear 3-0 victory. Notable performances included Riley Austin who notched up 6 kills, and Reese Gregory with 13 assists. Middlebury took down Colchester in a tightly contested match, winning 3-1.

The action doesn’t stop here. The upcoming schedule features matches like Paine Mountain at Richford and U-32 against Green Mountain Valley, both set for 4 p.m. on the following Saturday. Volleyball fans can look forward to the showdown between Rice and BFA-St. Albans at 4:30 p.m..
