The 2024 Vermont high school fall sports season has officially kicked off, bringing exciting matchups and impressive performances across various sports. Teams have been battling it out in soccer, field hockey, volleyball, golf, and cross-country running, and the results are already pouring in.

In Montpelier, the local team claimed a strong 3-1 victory over Missisquoi. Regan Walke led the charge with two goals, supported by Lia Walsh’s goal and Emily Tringe’s three assists. Missisquoi’s Surelle Casperson managed to net a goal, but it wasn’t enough to overcome Montpelier’s strong defense.

Milton also shone brightly with a 2-0 win against Lyndon. Saj Sanders scored one goal and assisted another, while Olivia Hayden contributed with another goal. The Milton defense held Lyndon at bay without allowing any penalty corners, showcasing their strong game.

St. Johnsbury faced off against North Country and secured a 2-0 win, with goals from Molly Kimber and Meredith Roy, both scored from penalty corners. North Country’s Ava Bouchard performed well in goal with six saves.

U-32 dominated the field with an impressive 6-1 victory over Harwood. Hannah Drury and Addie Gold each scored twice, while Chloe Pembroke netted another to cap off a stellar performance.

In a closely contested match, South Burlington triumphed over BFA-St. Albans with a 2-1 overtime win. Katie Williams scored the golden goal just three minutes into the extra period.

Several teams also displayed outstanding performances in volleyball, with Essex earning a commanding 3-0 victory against Rice, showing dominance with scores of 25-4, 25-14, and 25-13. Tess Adams made a noteworthy contribution with eight kills.

The high school sports calendar remains packed with more games to come, and coaches are encouraged to report results promptly. For those looking to keep up with scores and details, remember to reach out through the appropriate channels.
